Video Summary
In a recent seminar led by Pamela Agar, Co-Executive Director of CASE in Europe, insights from the latest CASE Insights on Philanthropy UK and Ireland survey were discussed. This year's survey underwent significant technical changes, transitioning to a new survey platform, which allows for easier data collection and benchmarking across regions. The seminar featured key highlights, including a 13.7% increase in new funds committed, although donor numbers have decreased by 21.8% over the last five years, indicating a trend towards fewer donors making larger gifts. Trusts and foundations were responsible for nearly half of all new funds committed.

Staffing and investment in advancement operations also saw an increase, with a 6.4% rise in total FTE staff. The event underscored the importance of these contributions in advancing education.

Participants were encouraged to utilize CASE’s data resources, including summary and strategic benchmarking reports, to better understand sector trends and inform institutional decision-making. The next survey will open on August 11th, 2024, with some process changes aimed at boosting participation and offering support for survey completion.
