How are advancement offices around the globe using artificial intelligence (AI)? And how will AI transform fundraising, alumni relations, and communications and marketing in the years ahead? This webinar will highlight the key findings of a recent CASE-GiveCampus survey on the use of AI in Advancement. Speakers will discuss how institutions are approaching AI, how they are using this transformational technology, and the factors influencing whether advancement offices are adopting AI. The discussion will also look at the horizon and consider how AI will impact the work of advancement offices worldwide.

After this webinar, attendees will be able to:

 Jenny Cooke Smith
 Senior Director of CASE Insights Solutions, CASE

Jenny Cooke Smith is the Senior Director of CASE Insights Solutions at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, CASE and specialises in analysing advancement trends, interpreting comparison benchmarks, and helping people understand the "stories behind the data". Prior to joining CASE, Smith spent 15 years in a variety of positions within Blackbaud’s Target Analytics, most recently leading donorCentrics™ benchmarking cohorts, providing opportunities for institutions and organisations globally to review and discuss direct marketing and annual giving trends. She joined CASE in 2019 to help members find value through using data and is most proud that through projects like CASE’s Alumni Engagement Metrics, institutions can begin to answer questions such as ‘we know engagement leads to giving, but how do we show it?’. Smith is currently co-teaching a course on CASE’s Global Reporting Standards and researching the latest trends on alumni engagement globally, enjoying opportunities to present again in-person, and working individually with CASE member institutions to develop strategies using CASE data and benchmarks. 

 Josh Hirsch
 Senior Strategist, Soukup Strategic Solutions and Digital Marketing Manager and Faculty, The Fundraising   School at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy 

Josh Hirsch is the Senior Strategist for Soukup Strategic Solutions and is the Digital Marketing Manager as well as on faculty for The Fund Raising School at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2006 with a focus on educational philanthropy for both public charter and independent private schools. He has an extensive background in social media, digital communications, and marketing along with experience in grant research and writing, individual giving, special event planning, stewardship, and cultivation of donors. Josh is a pioneering educator in the realm of artificial intelligence for nonprofits, having contributed to the development of a specialized curriculum at The Fund Raising School to empower nonprofit organizations with AI competencies. As a respected voice in this emerging field, he is frequently invited to speak at conferences and workshops about the strategic integration of AI in nonprofit initiatives.

He is the Florida Caucus Representative for the Association of Fundraising Professionals First Coast Chapter and Past-President of the Palm Beach County Chapter. Josh is also a member of the AFPeeps, the social media vanguard for the AFP International Conference and other AFP initiatives. He has spoken internationally on digital communications and has had numerous articles published in professional journals.

Josh received a Master of Science in Family, Youth and Community Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida. He has a Certificate in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy from Bay Path University and is a Certified Social Media Strategist by the National Institute for Social Media.

 

 Jennn Schilling
 Head of Product, GiveCampus 

Jennn Schilling is Head of Product at GiveCampus. She brings more than 15 years of experience in education and technology to our team. She previously directed product at Pure Barre and regional operations with Lyft. She started her career as a K–12 educator and holds three degrees from the University of Virginia.
 Deborah Trumble
 Senior Director of Research, CASE

Deborah Trumble joined CASE in January of 2022 and serves as Senior Director of Research, overseeing CASE Insights global surveys and benchmarks. Prior to CASE, Deborah spent 15 years as an analytics consultant for Blackbaud Target Analytics, working with a wide range of national and international nonprofits, including higher education institutions. She facilitated peer-to-peer collaborative benchmarking meetings, provided fundraising trends and insights to guide strategic decisions, and drove content development of online analytic dashboards.  Prior to her time at Blackbaud, Deborah served as administrative and membership operations manager at the Smithsonian Institution, overseeing administrative functions, member relations, and providing analysis of membership fundraising performance.  Deborah has a B.A. in Art History from Florida State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Florida.
