CASE Connects: Building a Sustainable Advancement Model in a Publicly Funded Context
About

Anita Straujuma, Executive Director at Riga Technical University Development Fund and Chair of the CASE Northern Europe Cabinet, will discuss how publicly funded universities can build a sustainable, mission-aligned advancement model that strengthens alumni relations and philanthropy without compromising public values. The session will examine the unique constraints and opportunities facing public institutions, including funding volatility, public accountability, and donor perceptions, while highlighting strategies for shifting from transactional fundraising to long-term relationship building. Key themes will include aligning advancement with the public mission, diversifying revenue streams, engaging alumni broadly and equitably, using data and stewardship to demonstrate impact, and fostering institutional trust through transparency and governance.

Jacob Jensen, Senior Executive Officer at Technical University of Denmark and Vice-Chair of the CASE Northern Europe Cabinet, will host the session and facilitate any questions.
