Athletic milestones such as championship runs, historic seasons, and nationally recognized programs create powerful moments of pride and visibility for universities. But how can advancement and alumni engagement teams strategically harness that momentum to deepen connections with alumni and supporters?

This panel will explore how institutions leverage the excitement surrounding major athletic achievements to drive alumni engagement, strengthen institutional affinity, and support broader advancement goals. Panelists from universities that recently competed for or won national championships will share insights on how their teams collaborated across athletics, alumni relations, and advancement to activate alumni communities, create meaningful engagement opportunities, and extend the impact of these milestone moments beyond the game.

Panelists include Erica Arroyo (University of Miami), whose institution recently competed for a national championship in football, and Tiffany Foxworth (University of South Carolina), following the university’s 2025 national championship in women’s basketball. The conversation will be moderated by Latasia Priest, Executive Director of Engagement at NC State University, who will guide a discussion on strategies, lessons learned, and practical ideas institutions can apply when their own big moments arrive.
