Navigating a presidential transition can be among the most exciting and nerve-wracking times for a vice president. Hear from those who have lived it – sometimes more than once! Panelists will discuss how to ensure that the team, institutional leaders, and board members continue to focus on institutional priorities and help drive advancement goals during this transitional period.
Mike Andreasen
Vice Chancellor for Development, UNC-Chapel Hill
Michael Andreasen is the University’s senior development officer and oversees the Office of University Development staff, which works closely with campus fundraising offices and affiliated foundations that support schools, the College of Arts and Sciences and other units. Andreasen also is chief executive of the UNC-Chapel Hill Foundation Inc., a nonprofit corporation that receives gifts on behalf of the University, its schools and units.
Justin Fincher
Managing Director, Huron
At Huron Justin provides consulting expertise to colleges, universities, academic medical centers, and nonprofit clients to develop comprehensive philanthropy and fundraising campaigns, build long-term organizational capacity, and integrate data and systems, enabling them to build agile and resilient plans, organizations, and teams. Prior to joining Huron, Justin served as vice president for advancement and executive director of the Stony Brook Foundation at Stony Brook University. At Stony Brook, he also served as interim chief deputy to the president and senior vice president for government and community relations. Justin previously held the role of vice president for advancement strategy and administration at The Ohio State University. He began his advancement career at Johns Hopkins University as an associate director, developing the institution’s early engagement strategy. Justin earned a doctorate and Master of Science from University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University. Justin is a founder and facilitator of the Advancement Leadership Lab. He volunteers with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Justin was awarded district professional of the year from CASE.
Rhea Turtelaub
Vice Chancellor, External Affairs, UCLA
Rhea Turteltaub is the UCLA Vice Chancellor, External Affairs. She oversees one of the nation's leading advancement organizations, a diverse and integrated department comprised of Alumni Affairs, Development, Advancement Services, Government & Community Relations, Employee & Organizational Engagement, as well as the UCLA Alumni Association, and the UCLA Foundation.
