Learning Lab: Generative AI in the Workplace

Are you interested in exploring the use of Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot) and how these tools can be used effectively in the workplace? Join Scott Emery and Ryan Sheldrake from Oregon State University Foundation who will guide you in exploring the use of these tools effectively and responsibly. 

By the end of this Learning Lab, participants will have:  

  • Learned about some of the Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot) available to you. 
  • Learned about ways you can effectively use these Generative AI tools. 
  • Networked with colleagues to share ideas and experiences.  

Scott Emery is the Senior Director,  Automation & Change Management at the Oregon State University Foundation. In this role, he is responsible for leading the organization's automation and AI strategy, change management, and process improvement efforts that work to modernize fundraising and operational activities. Scott completed a B.S. in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and an M.S. in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon.

Ryan Sheldrake is the Assistant Director of Service & Application Support at the Oregon State University Foundation. In this role, he is responsible for managing the ITS support staff, troubleshooting technical issues, addressing application-related concerns, and training staff and campus partners on various applications, including the donor and alumni database. Embracing new technologies and helping staff adopt them is his primary goal. He is a proud alumnus of Oregon State University.
