Video Summary
The webinar introduced CASE’s FY25 alumni engagement findings, thanking sponsors and the 400+ participating institutions from 18+ countries. Speakers explained CASE Insights’ role in helping advancement teams use data, standards, and benchmarking to measure engagement across four modes: communication, volunteering, experiential, and philanthropy.

Key takeaways included that global alumni engagement is increasing in absolute numbers, but the percentage engaged has dipped slightly because contactable alumni populations are growing faster. Non-monetary engagement modes are rising, while giving is declining, especially among smaller donors and more recent graduates. Globally, the engagement rate was 14.7%. The team also highlighted that institutions with better data capture and more years in the survey tend to show stronger, more stable results.

Other findings showed strong early engagement among recent graduates, especially in communication and experiential activities, while volunteering remains steady across the alumni life cycle. Philanthropy tends to rise later in life. The speakers emphasized that technology, staffing, and cross-campus collaboration strongly affect results. They also noted an average of eight platforms used to track engagement and highlighted the need for enterprise-wide data collection.

A new section of the report features institutional case studies from London Business School, UNC Wilmington, Caltech, UT Arlington, and the University of Iowa, showing how schools are using the framework for KPIs, data sharing, strategic planning, dashboards, and campaign goals.

The webinar closed with practical resources: a benchmarking report, a strategic report, and CASE’s data portal, plus an invitation to future CASE conferences and benchmarking cohorts.
